The product
What is Memdir?
A members' directory that runs in the browser on any phone or computer. Members search each other and tap to call, WhatsApp or email. The committee manages members, sends circulars, collects fees online and exports the data. It is built, hosted and supported by EbizIndia Consulting Pvt. Ltd. in Kolkata.
How do members get in?
Through a link and a login on any phone, tablet or computer. There is no app to install and nothing to update.
Do we need our own server or an IT person?
No. It is hosted by us, and hosting, backups and updates are part of the annual fee. The secretary runs the whole thing from a phone.
What is DND?
Do Not Disturb, channel by channel. A member can hide their phone number from other members and still receive email, or the other way round. They set it themselves and can change it whenever they like.
Can members update their own profiles?
Yes. Phone, email, company, designation, photo and whichever other fields you enable. The secretary is not involved.

Messages and events
Can we send circulars and notices?
Yes, to all members or to a group such as a city, a category, a batch or a chapter, by email and WhatsApp, from the admin dashboard.
Does it send birthday and anniversary greetings?
Yes, automatically on the day, in wording the committee writes once. Today's celebrations also show on every member's dashboard.
Can we run events through it?
Yes. Members register for free or paid events, pay online where there is a fee, and check in at the venue by QR code. The next morning you have the attendance and the list of people who registered and did not arrive.
What is the QR code check-in?
Every member carries a personal QR code inside the directory. At an event a volunteer scans it and attendance is recorded, without a paper register.

Money
Does it handle membership renewals?
Yes. Annual members are reminded automatically before their membership lapses, in wording the committee sets, and they renew and pay online. The committee sees who has paid and who has not.
Can members pay their fees online?
Yes. Membership fees and event fees are paid through the directory, and every payment is recorded against that member. You can export the payment record to Excel at any time.
Can sponsors advertise in the directory?
Yes. There are sponsor slots inside the directory. The committee decides who advertises and keeps the revenue.
How is it priced?
One annual fee, based on how many members you have. See the pricing page for the slabs. The exact figure for your body comes within 24 hours of the demo.

Your data
Who owns the member data?
Your association. You can download the complete dataset to Excel at any time, and the directory is not published on the open web.
Will you contact our members?
No. We do not market to your members and we do not share their details with anyone. Our contact is the committee.
Where is the data hosted?
On servers managed by EbizIndia Consulting Pvt. Ltd., with regular backups. We can put the specifics in writing for your committee if you need them.
What about the DPDP Act?
Your association is the data fiduciary for its member data and we process it on your instructions. Our privacy policy sets out what this website collects and why, and we will sign a data processing clause if your committee needs one.

Getting started
How long does setup take?
3 to 7 working days from the day we receive your member list.
What format does our data need to be in?
Excel or CSV is easiest. A scan of the printed directory also works: we type it in for you.
Can we use our own logo and domain?
Your logo and colours go on every directory. Your own domain comes with the enterprise slab.
What support do we get after go-live?
Phone, WhatsApp and email, Monday to Friday, 10 am to 7 pm. Most issues are sorted the same working day.
What if we want to leave?
You export your data to Excel and the directory is switched off at the end of the paid period. There is no exit charge.
